Joe is a one-of-a-kind horse that we are lucky enough to have in our lesson program. Joe is a do-it-all kind of guy, having excelled at dressage (he has the best half-passes in the IMG_4796barn!), western performance events, hunter under saddle and over fences, and western dressage to level 5. He has also done roping, parades, is a great trail horse, and is trick trained to smile, stand on a pedestal, spanish walk, lay down, and sit on command. He was also on the winning team in horse soccer at the Minnesota Equifest. He is an excellent bridleless horse and is trained through level 3 natural horsemanship. He is quiet and gentle, and definitely a crowd favorite at the barn. Joe has the patience of a saint and has taught hundreds of people to ride. And it runs in the family… his grandfather was owned by NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw and taught all of his kids how to ride.

Kate is a rare breed, a Hungarian Fajta. Hungarian horses are considered to be a national treasure of Hungary, bred for over a thousand years to be outstanding war horses. During World War II, many of _DSC0225the horses were taken from the Hungarians and the breed only had a few remaining. 106 of the remaining Hungarian horses were rescued by the US Army and relocated to America in an effort to preserve the breed. Her dam is a direct decendant of these horses, and was herself a champion hunter, 100-mile endurance horse, a grand prix level dressage horse, and as gentle as they come. Her sire is a Dutch Warmblood, a grandson of Rampal, who was one of the top 200 dressage horses in the world. Kate is a very talented hunter, and is an easy and uncomplicated ride for beginners through advanced hunter and equitation riders. Despite being nearly a hand smaller than the average hunter, she is unchallenged by courses up to 3’6″. Kate is also level 4 natural horsemanship, trick trained, a solid 1st level dressage horse, a steady trail mount, and the best bridleless horse in the barn.

Kandy’s Katmai (“Katmai”)

Katmai is a character you will never forget. He is the typical pony, always pulling one of his mischievious pranks. He SONY DSCis a favorite among our young riders, not only for his perfect size, but for his sense of humor. He is a cross between an Arabian pinto pony stallion and a Half-Arabian, Half American Shetland mare. His sire, RF Rambo, is a very special stallion with many championships and hundreds of champion foals, including Katmai. He has a wonderful, kind temperament and is a great teacher for beginners through advanced young riders. He excells as a hunter over fences and under saddle, but also is trained in dressage to 1st level, pleasure, and is level 4 natural horsemanship. He is an amazing bridleless horse and is trick trained to smile, say yes and no, stand on a pedestal, lay down, and sit on command. He is a one-in-a-million kind of guy.

Magic Moment (“Magic”)

Magic has a big heart that is made of solid gold. Although most people are intimidated by her size at first, it doesn’t take them long to realize that Magic is a gentle giant. She is the perfect mount for a beginner, and is the best confidence builder in the barn. She is quiet and mellow, smooth and easy. She is infinitely tolerant of mistakes but at the same time will wait until you get it right before she gives you the response that you want. She is the perfect teacher, patient and kind. She loves to jump, and excels as a hunter under saddle and 1st level dressage horse and is level 1 natural horsemanship. She also trail rides like a dream and dabbles in western pleasure as well. She is a cross between an English Shire stallion (which is where she gets her size and her fuzzy feet) and a Thoroughbred x Standardbred mare.

Zephyr is a very silly, goofy gelding with a great sense of humor.  He is patient and infinitely gentle, and has many years of show ring experience.  Zephyr and Diana schooling 2002 (2)Zephyr has shown to 2nd level dressage, and has also excelled at hunter under saddle and over fences classes.  He is an amazing trail horse, and has a go-anywhere, do-anything attitude.
