After last month’s journey to the Holistic Horse Fair in Madison, WI brought September to a close, we put our game faces back on for one last hurrah at the Minnesota Harvest Horse Show in St. Paul, MN. On October 8th and 9th at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Colleseum, Pacific Blue Kaimali and Maeve Tworek competed in the Medium Pony Hunter Division. “Mali,” as she is called around the barn, is our new “project pony”, purchased out of Montrose, MN just a couple of months ago. Mali has had hunter training in the past, and so we brought her on as a prospect to see what she could do. Mali’s progress has been outstanding, and we can’t believe how far she has come in such a short amount of time. At the show, not only did she place respectably with a 3rd, two 4ths, a 5th and a 6th, but we also ran into her former trainer and several of her former young riders who were very happy to see how well she is doing. They all had to come say hello to Mali and there were some hugs, kisses and happy tears. Everyone had such positive things to say about her progress, and it really made the show a wonderful experience for everyone.
On Halloween Day, at Timeless Farm in Madison, WI, Staci showed her new mare, Vertical Limit as well as coached several of her students. Timeless Farm’s Halloween Day horse show stayed right in line with the holiday customs, encouraging riders to dress up their horses and themselves in costime. 5 days into owning her new mare, Staci showed the new prospect, dressed in an elaborate punk-rocker costume in the Walk Trot over Groundpoles Division, taking a 1st, two 3rds, and a 4th. Also showing in
Walk Trot was Courtney Wilson and our lesson horse Waitin’ on Joe, dressed as an indian pony complete with makeup and feathers. They recieved two 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd in the Shortest Stirrup Walk Trot over Groundpoles, and won Reserve Champion of their division!
Gabrielle Curtis was costumed as a baseball player aboard her Thoroughbred mare, Kiara. Together, they won three 3rds, a 2nd, and Reserve Champion of the 1′ to 1’6″ Baby Green Hunter. Maeve Tworek’s horse, Flashback Fever, was out due to recently needing a dental float, so she rode Staci’s Oldenburg jumper, Olympia, and were dressed up as pimps. Maeve and Olympia won two 2nds, a 3rd, and were Reserve Champions of the 2′-2’3″ Jumper Division.
